5 Easy and Healthy Thanksgiving Recipes

T- 1 day until Turkey Day and there is no need to stress over healthy options for dinner!

Here’s a quick round-up of some healthy dishes that are easy to prepare, so all you have to worry about is getting stuffed and spending time with loved ones.

  1. Whole Foods Roasted Carrots

This simple side of colorful roasted carrots gets big appeal from toasted spices and a hint of spicy harissa sauce. It’s delicious at room temperature, making it convenient for a holiday buffet or as a potluck dish. Serve with a dollop of tangy Greek yogurt to add a cooling creaminess and balance. In the picture above, I followed this recipe for inspiration, but used ingredients I had on hand. So, everything but the bagel seasoning instead of the mentioned seeds, turmeric (because I always add turmeric), and I did not use spicy harissa sauce. Let me know which variation you try!

  2. Nutritious Life Brussels Sprouts (with a kick)

Brussels sprouts are an incredible source of folate, potassium, B vitamins, manganese, and many other nutrients. They’re also crunchy and taste amazing with warming fall and winter flavors and dishes. As soon as the weather starts getting cold, it’s time to eat them every which way (except for steamed into mush): roasted, sauteed, and shaved into salads. Here’s an easy way to make them - I also like to add goat cheese, dried cranberries and almonds into the mix. SO. GOOD.

  3. Roasted Butternut Squash & Brussels Sprouts

Made by naturally_natalieeng these simple and delicious maple roasted butternut squash & brussels sprouts with pecans, cranberries, and pomegranates are something to be thankful for.

  4. Healthy with Nedi’s Baked Cauliflower Mash

This is a delicious vegetable side that’s easy to prepare and has less carbs than traditional mashed potatoes, but just as creamy without the dairy.

  5. Sweet Potato Zucchini Bread

The grain-free, Paleo-approved recipe was created by Solano Nolfo, NLC, a holistic health coach and baker who’s a graduate of The Nutrition School and is also certified by The Institute for Integrative Nutrition.
