5 Work From Home Tips I Live By

Work from home (WFH)? I do every Friday and while I love the short commute, sometimes I miss the office vibes and inspiration. Just me?

To set myself up for success and motivate me for the day, here are a few WFH tips I live by (every Friday anyway :)).

  1. Create an inspirational space - I totally get that the couch, or your bed seems like a much more comfortable space to get work done. And if that works for you, that’s great, but for me, I need a space that inspires creation and thinking. And, I don’t want to get too comfy! I work with a candle nearby, have coffee and water, and try to keep my work space super organized!


    2. Plan breaks - It’s so easy to get in the zone, and on the flip side, get distracted. By planning out breaks for yourself, it keeps you going and then it’s really nice to reset.


    3. Get dressed - yes, not putting on a bra and working in your pajamas is awesome, and believe me that happens more often time then not, but sometimes even just putting on a pair of jeans or getting out of pajamas and putting on leggings gives me all the motivational vibes.

    4. Have a morning routine before diving into your work - instead of just rolling out of bed, take a few minutes to focus on yourself. Meditate, have some breakfast and make some coffee. It really makes the biggest difference for me.

    5. Work from a coffee shop/a hotel/a community work space - some days, working from home just is not doing the trick. I need the hustle and bustle and creative energy.
